On Wednesday evening 6 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H., the English Language Center held a ceremony in one of the halls of celebrations in Mecca to honor Her Excellency Ms. Siham bin Ali Akbar Bukhari, the former Deputy Director of the English Language Center at the Female Section, and Dr. Ali bin Hasan Abu Al-Rish, the former Deputy Director of the English Language Center for Educational Affairs and Head of the English Language Department at the College of Social Sciences.
The ceremony was sponsored by Dr. Abdul-Aziz bin Rashad Surujy, the University Vice President for Educational Affairs, and was attended by the Director of the English Language Center, supervisors of the units of the English Language Center, members of the teaching staff, and the staff members of the English Language Center.
Dr. Sami bin Muhammad Ghaleb Atarji, Director of the English Language Center, inaugurated the ceremony with a welcome speech for the invitees. He then thanked them for the efforts they have made to improve, develop, and expand the services provided by the English Language Center that benefit the Mecca community in particular, and the whole area of Mecca in general. His Excellency Dr. Abdul-Majeed Al-Tayyib then delivered a speech praising both the personal and professional characteristics of Dr. Ali Abu Al-Rish and Ms. Siham Bukhari, and their achievements during their tenure at the English Language Center. Her Excellency Dr. Sahar bint Matar Al-Zahrani, Deputy Director of the English Language Center, also extended her thanks and appreciation to Dr. Siham Bukhari and Dr. Ali Abu Al-Rish for their efforts during their tenure at the English Language Center, wishing them success in their future lives. Then both Dr. Ali Abu Al-Rish and Dr. Siham Bukhari gave speeches in which they thanked everyone for this generous gesture and kind sentiments, expressing the spirit of brotherhood and love prevailing among the staff of the English Language Center that contributed to the success of their work.
After completing the ceremony by giving a gift and a shield to the guests of honor from the English Language Center, everyone was invited to a dinner in honor of the sponsor, the guests of honor, and the audience.
