UQU Hajj Institute Hosts 25 International Media Outlets

A media delegation made up of 25 international media outlets, hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Information to cover the Kingdom’s efforts in serving the pilgrims, visited the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah at Umm Al-Qura University in Aziziah.
At the beginning, Dr. Sami bin Yassen Burhamin, the Dean of the the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah, welcomed the delegation, highlighting that the institute carries out more than 80 scientific programs and studies annually in all fields that are related to the services offered to the pilgrims and visitors of the Grand and Prophet’s Mosques. He noted that the Institute receives the wise government’s support and consideration to promote the services offered to the pilgrims through its programs and studies, which submit notes to the relevant bodies to promote positivities and avoid remarks in the coming seasons.
He added that the Institute carries out its accurate field research role annually by highly qualified and specialized academic cadres in all aspects that are related to the services offered to the pilgrims and visitors of the Grand and Prophet’s Mosques, including the environment and health; administrative and humanitarian; and construction and engineering studies, in addition to the technical and media research.
The delegation watched a presentation for 42 models of studies and programs carried out by the Institute this year 1439H, most prominently the study of the integrated catering system initiative for pilgrims; the application of the environment-friendly Green Hajj Camp; the control of waste management and recycling; and the intensive care for public health within the camp. In addition to several other studies related to reception at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport in Madinah. He added that there were studies of performance indicators for utilities and services provided to the pilgrims.
Among the most prominent media outlets and agencies that visited the Institute were Sky News Arabia; European agencies and Alsharqiya News Channel, in addition to a number of representatives of printed and visual media outlets from Arab and Islamic countries.
