The Deanship of Student Affairs for Student Activities and Training, in cooperation with the College of Shari’a and Islamic Studies, has organized the events of a campaign titled "My University is Part of the Holy Land (6)" under the slogan "Makkah is a Pledge and Refuge". The event was held on Thursday 29 Jumada Al-Oula 1439AH at the hall of building “D”. The campaign aims to shed light on the link between the glorification of Allah the Almighty, and the Holy Land.
The program was opened at 10:00am by the Vice Dean of Student Affairs for Student Services, Dr. Lou’lou’ah Saleh Al-Harthy and the Vice Dean for Educational Affairs, Dr. Ibtisam Balqasim Al-Qarni. The program was attended by the Committee of the Holy Land Glorification project in Hajar Association, in addition to a group of faculty members in various departments and a large number of university students.
The members of the Cultural and Social Activities Committee at the College, Ms. Hind Al-Muzaini from the Department of History, and Ms. Banan Al-Aqla from the Department of Shari'a, have both supervised the preparation of the program, which included corners displayed inside the hall (Makkah in the Pre-Islamic Era, The World in Islam, Makkah in the Golden Age, Makkah in the Saudi Arabian Age, the Borders of the Haram, and The Well of Zamzam).
A cinematic show was presented about the historic epic of Makkah. Afterwards, Dr. Haila Al-Rashidi, faculty member at the History Department, spoke about the boundaries of the Haram. This was followed by Dr. Ahlam Abu Qayed, also a faculty member at the History Department, speaking about Zamzam well from its inception to the present day. Dr. Laila Al-Moqbil, a faculty member at Shari’a Department, then delivered a lecture titled “Love and Purity”. Dr. Nour Qarout from the Department of Shari'a also spoke about "Makkah as a pledge and a refuge. ", and then Dr. Noura Al-Mahmadi held a friendly discussion titled “We learned, and we obeyed”. A student from Shari’a Department, Doaa Al-Lihiani, then held a compeition in which attendees participated, followed by giving gifts to participants. Another student from the Department of Shari’a then delivered a message called “Appreciating Makkah”.
Awareness and guidance messages were distributed to be hung on the door handles of the university doors in Al-Zahir. As the event came to a close, participants in the ceremony and those who contributed to organizing the event were all honored.
On Sunday 16 Jumada Al-Akhira 1439AH, participating colleges were honored. The College of Shari’a and Islamic Studies ranked second for its organization and attention to detail as well as its choice of the place to hold the event.
