Under the aegis of Dr. Saad bin Saeed Al-Ghamdi, dean of the Preparatory Year Deanship, and under the supervision of Dr. Ramy bin Adel Pasha, vice dean, the Deanship in Al-Qunfudah (Female Section) organized meaningful events and activities to achieve some cognitive and emotional goals, and develop many skills related to their university life
The event was organized at the headquarters so as to honor the female students aced in the first semester of the academic year 1438/1439 AH. It was started by Quranic recitation followed by motivational speeches that the female students delivered about science, will and excellence. Also, the female academic supervisor gave a speech about the need of good morals, perseverance and continuity in diligence for outstanding educational outcomes. Then, the excellent female students were honored in the scientific and medical programs and received certificates of appreciation.
Believing in the community role of the Deanship and the integration between pre-university and university education, “Preparatory Year Ambassadors” team, accompanied by the academic supervisor visited the second secondary school in Al-Qunfudah to introduce the objectives of the preparatory year and its role in helping the male and female students to adapt to the university life. The event, also, included cultural part about health and food information. In addition, a number of female students held cultural and recreational competitions and distributed roses and gifts to the winners.
In line with Saudi Arabia's interest in reviving the Saudi heritage and its establishment of Jenadriyah Festival to attract a large number of visitors and guests, the female students of Preparatory Year in Al-Qunfudah organized Jenadriyah mini-festival to revive the popular heritage and define old life; including a definition of the Jenadriyah and its importance, in addition to an exhibition of ancient ways of life and the quality of crafts and industries.
Activating the role of female students in health awareness, and in coordination with Al-Qunfudah General Hospital and Modilf Hospital, an awareness campaign was organized on the relationship between the man’s health condition and the psychological side and its impact on happiness and optimism as well as the close relationship between food, health and balanced life.
At the end of the campaign, the attendees were honored and received roses and certificates of appreciation.
Dr. Saad Al-Ghamdi lauded the support that the Preparatory Year Deanship receives from UQU President, Dr. Bakri bin Matouq Assas, and the continuous follow-up by Dr. Abdulaziz Srouji, vice president for Educational Affairs, to all the deanship’s events and activities in Makkah and its branches in Al-Lith and Al-Qunfudah.
