A Visit to the National Center for Social Studies to Face National Challenges

With the support of the President of UQU, Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assass, and as part of the keenness of the Deanship of Scientific Research to make scientific research a tool to offer scientific and applied solutions to face national challenges, the first meeting was held between the Deanship of Scientific Studies in UQU and the National center for Social Studies (NCSS) at the headquarters of the center in Riyadh on 8 Dhu Al-Qaeda 1438AH. The meeting sought to build a strategic research partnership between the two bodies in order to face the national challenges.

The meeting was attended by the Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Abdulrahma bin Ghalib Al-Ahdal, and the acting manager of the Social Studies Center, Dr. Abdulhadi bin Mohdar Al-Aidrus, in addition to the head of NCSS, Dr. Salih bin Abdulaziz Al-Nassar, accompanied by his delegation that included agents and officials from the center.

During the meeting, an overview was given about the work of the Deanship of Scientific Research in UQU. It was followed by an overview of the current plans and work at the NCSS. Afterwards, the two sides discussed potential ways of cooperation to build a strategic partnership between both bodies.

The meeting was concluded by determining the aspects of research studies to become a basis for cooperation between the two parties, including: Implementing demographic studies on Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, establishing a social laboratory at UQU in cooperation with NCSS, benefiting from the rich digital information sources at NCSS to support social research, finding qualitative and quantitative studies about Hajj and Umrah, and increasing the quality of voluntary work during the season of Hajj and Umrah.  This meeting will be followed by more similar meetings to complete the strategic partnership contract between the two bodies to achieve what is best nationally.
