In cooperation with the Education College’s Department of Physical Education at Umm Al Qura University (UQU) and the General Sports Authority’s Leadership Institute, under the patronage of HE Dr. Ali bin Musleh Al-Matrafi, dean of the Education College, and in the presence of Mr. Adel Al-Shawirkh, official and coordinator of the training course and representative of Leadership Institute, a training course entitled (Sports Events Management) was organized at the college headquarters, and was from Sunday 22-3-1439 to Thursday 26-3-1439 AH.

The training course will be attended by 33 trainees from the physical education department at Umm Al Qura University (UQU), and conducted by the following members: Dr. Youssef bin Ateyya al-Thebeiti, professor of sports management and marketing and head of the Physical Education Department; Dr. Nabil Abdelmotelb Mohammed Omar, professor of human resources management; and Dr. Tawfik Bin Idris Al Bakry, assistant professor of sports management and vice-dean of the College of Education for Educational Affairs.  Mr. Zaed bin Mohammed Obaidallah Al-Tuwariki, lecturer at the Physical Education Department, was responsible for the training course management.

The training course aims to enhance the students' knowledge towards the concept, objectives and importance of sports events and to their implementation, as well as how to plan, organize, implement and evaluate sports effectiveness, and how to manage resources and crises successfully. This is because the great importance of the sports field, in which many of volunteering youth are participating. Hence, those youngsters should have practical knowledge and proper application to ensure the success of participation and events implemented.

The training course comes at the beginning of the continuous cooperation between the College of Education, represented by the Physical Education Department and the Leadership Institute at the General Sports Authority, to improve and train sports leaders in various sports fields, and to promote the sports system in the framework of achieving the Kingdom’s 2030 vision on sports.
