Dr. Bakry bin Matouq Al-Assas, the President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), has made a field visit to Al-Qunfudhah Colleges of Engineering and Computer. He was accompanied by Dr. Yasser Al-Qahtani, the UQU Spokesperson; the Deans of the supporting deanships; and the Operation and Maintenance Officers. The President was received by Dr. Jaber Al-Zaharani, the Dean of the Colleges of Engineering and Computer; the Vice Deans of the two colleges; and a number of teaching staff members.

The visit is a part of the President’s scheduled visits to the governorate's colleges to assess the colleges’ different educational, adminstrative and service preparations. Dr. Bakry Al-Assas watched the introductory presentation given by the two colleges, which explained the potentials and preparations available at the colleges, in addition to some of their needs, which contribute to their educational path.

After his inspecting tour, the President said, “the university has offered all its capacities and human and technical potentials to provide the most prestigious educational services for the students, overcome the obstacles that may be found along their educational path and offer them the suitable atmosphere that assures their academic achievement”. He referred to the kind auspices and generous support given by the wise government to the university. Dr. Bakry noted that his tour was to directly assess the university’s branch buildings in Al-Qunfudhah.
