Preparatory Year Students Organize Meaningful Events

Under the auspices of Dr. Saad bin Saeed Al-Ghamdi, the Dean of Preparatory Year, and the supervision of Dr. Rami bin Adel Pasha, the Vice Dean of the Deanship for Branches, the deanship's branch in Al-Qunfudhah (Girls Section) has organized fruitful events and activities to develop the students' computer and English language skills, in addition to keeping them abreast of the domestic and global events.

The Computer Club has held an event on the importance of computer and its usage in life. The event included a part about social media and its importance in self-development and expression, besides exchanging cultures and being aware of news by the time they happen. The last axis of the event was about computers in the medical field and their role in saving data and helping doctors in diagnosing and prescribing the best medicine, in addition to being a means of training the medical students through the 3D films and the virtual reality.

In a mutual event organized by the Academic Advising Unit and the English language club to help the stumbling students in the English language, the students were received and welcomed and a discussion was opened with them on self-identification and the importance of knowing the points of strength and weakness. The event holders worked on helping the students to explore their potentials in setting the required plans to benefit from these capabilities in fixing the points of weakness.

A lecture was given to the students of the preparatory year about the ethics of the medical profession. The session included talking about organ transplantation, organs that are being donated and others that are not from the perspective of the Islamic law, child immunization and its benefits in preventing some dangerous diseases, and finally the possibility of determining the baby's gender, its importance and the perspective of the Islamic law.

For the activation of World Diabetes Day, the Student Programs and Activities Unit Girls Section in Al-Qunfudhah organized an event that included a number of parts: the history of diabetes and how to detect it; how to prevent diabetes; how to detect the disease and the symptoms that represent dangerous indicators; and talking about diabetes types, making diabetes tests for the attendees and explaining how to live with the disease. Some of the diabetes patients were hosted and talked with about their advices to prevent this disease.
