The students of the Colleges of Engineering and Computer in Al-Qunfudhah paid a field visit to the Tohama branch Electricity Company on Tuesday morning 25 Safar 1439 AH. The visit was paid to the two departments of Industrial Generation and Security. Students were accompanied by Dr. Olwey Mahdy, Dr. Amen Abdulshafy, and Eng. Ahmed Al Azeb, with the aim of introducing the students to the field works carried out by the company's engineers in both fields. The group was received by the company's Generation Director, Eng. Moussa Ossairy.
During the visit, a detailed explanation was given about the work of the generation station, and industrial security and safety within the company. This was followed by a simulation of the process of fire extinguishing as a task carried out by the industrial security management in such cases. Accompanied by the director of generation, the students then headed into the generation station to receive an explanation of the process of electricity production and its stages. They were also able to see the steam turbines, and visit the command and control room in the Generation Department.
The visit came under the guidance, support and personal follow-up of the Dean of Engineering and Computer Colleges, Dr. Jaber Al-Zahrani, given the importance of linking the theoretical aspect to the practical and field aspect of the college's outputs. It also aimed to emphasize the principle of cooperation and integration between government agencies and institutions.
