World Diabetes Day
Diabetes is the lack of insulin production by the beta cells in the pancreas, however, the reasons for the disability of these cells is. The reason for the beta cells' inability to produce sufficient insulin is the (autoimmune) destruction of these cells in the pancreas.
Types of diabetes:
1-Type 1 diabetes which requires dependence on insulin, and occurs at an early age.
2-Type 2 diabetes which can be treated using pills, and occurs at an older age.
Causes of type 1 and 2:
There are causes that could accelerate the occurrence of both types of diabetes (1 and 2), such as:
-Genetics.
-Obesity, lack of movement, and lethargy.
- The nature of modern life with its speed and stress.
- Increased intake of fast food, and spending leisure time eating snacks and appetizers that do more harm than good to the body.
-Smoking.
- Psychological and nervous stress taking you into deeper tension and reactions that consume your nerves on a daily basis, whether at work or at home, is a contributing factor to the occurrence of many illnesses not just diabetes. You can avoid these illnesses by controlling your nerves and reactions.
- Increased intake of soft drinks which contain large amounts of sugar harmful to the body.
Prevention and treatment:
-Playing sports.
- Maintaining proper weight.
- Eating healthy foods with low saturated fats.
- Reducing consumption of foods containing hydrogenated or trans fat.
- Avoiding salty foods to help control blood pressure.
