Umm Al-Qura University
Medical Science Research Center at the Deanship of Scientific Research made a research study by Dr. Somaia Hariri, Vice-Dean of the Center, marking the occasion of the month of breast cancer awareness, on Wednesday, 28/1/1439H in medical colleges at the Abideya-based Female Students Premises, and on Thursday 29/1/1439H at the Zakher HQ. The study included measuring community awareness about breast cancer and means of protection.
The introductory corner included a group of awareness flyers, accompanied with a visual show about means of protections and early examination methods.
Ms Ghaidaa Dery participated in preparing the corner, with the help of: Ms Azza Al Salmi, Ms Taiba Saqati, Ms Nehal Al Salmi, Ms Asrar Al Omairi and Ms Seham Al Nassar.
The center has been interested in achieving goals of the Deanship of Scientific Research, represented by the Vice-Deanship of Research Centers, for introducing the university community to the importance of scientific research and reliance on surveys and polls to document the results and not to rely on misconceptions.
The introductory corner was honored by a visit by the Dean of University Studies Dr. Hala bint Saeed Al Amodi and Vice-Dean of University Studies. Dr. Shaikha Ashour and a group of vice-deans of deanships, research centers and colleges and a dignitary of faculty members, who called on female students to participate and raise awareness about the importance of the study.
