His Excellency Director of the Umm al-Qura University Dr. Bakri Ibn M’touq inaugurated, on Wednesday 19/07/1437 AH, the academic symposium, organized by the Faculty of Shari’a and Islamic Studies at Umm al-Qura University in cooperation with the General Presidency for the affairs of the Holy Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, entitled (Holy Mosque: Virtues, Proprieties and Provisions), with the attendance of His Excellency General President of the Holy Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Rahman Ibn Abdulaziz Al-Sudais, with the participation of their Excellencies and Eminence and senior Ulemas. In his speech, His Excellency Dean of the College of Shari’a and Islamic Studies, the chairman of the organizing committee of the symposium, Dr. Ghazi Ibn Murshid al- Otaibi pointed out that the aspiration of Umm Al Qura University represented in the College of Shari’a and Islamic Studies met the aspiration of the General Presidency for the affairs of the Holy Mosque and the Prophet 's Mosque to hold a seminar entitled “Holy Mosque: Virtues, Proprieties and Provisions” to study a number of occurrences related to the Holy mosque, and discussing them by esteemed researchers, in addition to defining the virtues and public and private proprieties of the Holy mosque, which prompts its veneration,and helps to maintain its sanctity and respect. Besides, HE Dr. Ali al-Hakami, Dr. Muhammad Al-Khozaym, Dr. Muhammad Matar Al-Sahli, Dr. Faisal al-Mo’alem, Dr. Raed Al-Osaimi, Dr. Ibrahim al-Salami and Dr. Abdullah Haidar were honored.
At the end of the speech, HE thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud, May Allah protects him, and his wise government, for what they have provided to the Holy Mosque, which will be immortalized by history. Besides, he thanked His Royal Highness the adviser of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Emir of Mecca Prince Khalid Al-Faisal and the Minister of Education, who kindly approved the holding of this symposium, adding to the efforts of General presidency for the Holy Mosque and the Prophet's mosque, led by His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, for their cooperation with the University. Moreover, he appreciated the efforts of the College of Shari’a for organizing the symposium.
