On Thursday, 21 Oct. 2021, from 8 to 9 pm, the Department of Mathematics held a lecture entitled: “Math Tricks”. During the lecture, ways and tricks for adding and subtracting fractions were introduced as well as tricks for the multiplication and division of numbers. This was in order for students to refrain from using the calculator. Moreover, the way of using the Chinese abacus was also introduced as a first step towards rapid mental arithmetic.
