On Safar 19, 1443 A.H., the Department of History at Umm Al-Qura University celebrated the National Day by organizing many events, including:
- Giving a lecture, "It Is Our Homeland", in partnership with the College of Shari`ah and the Department of Islamic Studies. The lecture was presented by Dr. Iman Keefi, Assistant Professor at the Department of Modern History.
- Presenting a video entitled, "Yabrin Oasis", with the participation of the students, to tell the story of unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Launching the Best Tweet and Best Video Competition for the National Day for the female students via the hashtag, #It_Is_Our_Homeland_Department_of_History, on Twitter.
- Establishing interactive corners in front of the department’s pavilion which were set up jointly by the undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Department of History.
- The corners included the following:
- Our Green Homeland Corner (to explain the kingdom's efforts in afforestation).
- The Expansions of the Grand Mosque in Makkah Corner (to explain the kingdom's efforts in expanding the Two Holy Mosques throughout its history).
- A mural to express the pride of the department's students and visitors in our dear country.
