College of Shari`ah Organizes Event Entitled “It Is Our Homeland, to Which We Shall Remain Loyal”

The three departments of the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies, including: the Islamic Studies Center, the Department of Shari`ah, and the Department of History, participated in celebrating the 91st anniversary of the unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the slogan: "It Is Our Homeland", on Sunday, 19 Safar 1443 A.H. The celebration corners included the distribution of various leaflets, gifts for visitors, and some traditional Saudi food. This was in addition to video presentations via display screens to the college and its departments.

On Monday, 20 Safar 1443 A.H., the college held a remote program via WebEx with the participation of the Department of History and the Islamic Studies Center, entitled: “It Is Our Homeland, to Which We Shall Remain Loyal”. The program started with a recitation of verses of the Noble Qur'an followed by a speech delivered by the Vice Dean of the College, Prof. Nurah Al-Mihmadi, who welcomed the female attendees, spoke about the efforts of the Saudi Kingdom, and lauded the defenders of the nation, particularly the brave soldiers at the southern border, supplicating Allah to grant them success. Moreover, she extended her thanks to the departments participating in this event and all the female attendees. Next, the Deputy Head of the Islamic Studies Center, Dr. Fatimah Al-Luqmani, gave a speech in which she shed light on the kingdom, its efforts, and the Saudi vision.

This was followed by the most interesting part of the event, under the title: "Homeland Identity", which started with a talk by Dr. Iman Kifi, an academic staff member in the Department of History. After praising Allah, Dr. Iman extended thanks to the Vice Dean of the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies and spoke about the college and its nobility. She then referred to the Saudi Kingdom and its unification at the hands of its Founder King, Abdulaziz Al-Saud, as well as the identity of the kingdom and what this means. Next, she mentioned the heritage of the kingdom, its civilization and folklore, its old buildings, and its folk heritage, including fashions and the types and names of traditional food in all the regions of the kingdom, giving a presentation which included various beautiful pictures. It is noteworthy that the meeting won the admiration of all the attendees. After that, a national poem was recited by Ms. Faizah Al-Majnouni, Secretary of the Department of Public Relations. The event proceeded with the program of the Islamic Studies Center, entitled: "Faith and Unification", with the center displaying a video about the achievements of the kingdom during the COVID-19 pandemic. This was followed by priceless words which were delivered by the female students of the center and a video presentation about the role of the female students of the Islamic Studies Center. At the end of the meeting, the opportunity was given to the attendees to express their feelings on this precious day.
