The Deanship of Scientific Research held the introductory meeting of new scholarships (Sufaraa & Mutarjim) on Wednesday, 7th Shaaban 1438H at the Deanship’s Training Hall. The event was launched in the presence of Dr. Sheikha bint Saud Ashour, Vice-Dean of University Studies for Girls for Educational Development Affairs.
The event started with a Qur'anic recitation followed by a rich speech by the Dean of the University Studies for Girls in which she illustrated the significance of scholarships to create a scientific movement within the university, motivate researchers and provide a supportive research environment. Then, Dr. Hanaa Al-Yamani, Vice-Dean of E-Learning and Distance Education, gave a speech in which she reviewed the significance of the relationships of integration among deanships, which melted experiences, enhanced the process of education, and promoted the outputs, through the merge between the scientific content and the technical methods innovatively provided by the Deanship of E-Learning to achieve a technical breakthrough. This was followed by the speech of Dr. Maysoun Al Bonyan, Vice-Dean of Postgraduate Studies, in which she congratulated the Deanship of Scientific Research on the launch of such new scholarships of valuable scientific impact. Then, Dr. Haifaa Fida, the Supervisor of (Sufaraa) Program at the Girls Section, spoke about such scholarship and its significance, objectives, targeted category, enrollment terms, application mechanism and attached forms. This was accompanied by a video about the method of application via the E-Portal. Afterwards, Dr. Somayya Hariri, the Supervisor of (Mutarjim) Program, minutely defined in detail the scholarship and its significance, objectives, financial ceiling and application mechanism, while demonstrating a video of the application method.
Then, Dr. Hanadi bint Mohammed Buhairy (Vice-Dean of Scientific Research for Quality, Development and Academic Accreditation) launched the Channel of Scientific Research on Youtube. She also presented thank-you cards to the work team of the Deanship of E-Learning for their efforts in the direction of such two scholarships attractively according to high-standard technology, to attract the attention of the knowledge society, and achieve common objectives.
It should be noted that within the framework of cooperation among deanships and service of the knowledge society, a series of meetings were held between the Deanship of Scientific Research and the Deanship of E-Learning. Such meetings aimed to prepare an information plan that was in line with the technical developments in order to achieve the desired benefit to make a qualitative leap. This was by holding the introductory meeting of Sufaraa and Mutarjim Programs, which were two of the internal scholarships supervised by the Vice-Deanship for Research Scholarships and Projects. Moreover, Dr. Hanaa Al-Yamani, Vice-Dean of E-Learning and Distance Education, demonstrated the mechanisms and models of modern technologies using augmented reality programs to produce the scholarship programs in a new form in a modern age the language of which became technology. Such successive meetings resulted in the launch of the Scientific Research Channel on Augmented Reality, the design of two logos for Sufaraa and Mutarjim, as well as the implementation of presentations and enhanced reality technology. It is worth mentioning that the two deanships look forward to greater cooperation to serve common objectives.
