The UQU English Language Center, in cooperation with the Department of Human Resource Development, announced the launch of three free English language training programs targeting the academic and administrative employees of the university. The training programs will be held during the period from 5 Safar to 9 Rabi` Al-Thani, 1443 A.H. The registration process started yesterday, 28 Muharram 1443 A.H., via the link specified for each program, and will continue until the required number for each program is complete, with the deadline of the placement test being 30 Muharram. The program comes in the context of enhancing the job performance of the academic and administrative staff of the university.
Each program includes 5 training packages, offered to 15 trainees in each training group and led by 5 trainers from the center's academic staff. The first program aims to develop the English language skills of administrative staff at the novice level of proficiency, and the second aims to develop the reading, writing, speaking and listening skills of the academic staff at this level, which helps enhance their research and academic performance. The third training program targets the academic staff at the intermediate level of proficiency to raise their proficiency levels from the intermediate to the advanced level.
The Director of the English Language Center, Dr. Sahar Al-Zahrani, said that the program confirms the center's role in the sustainable development process and in enhancing the skills of the academic and administrative staff, which contribute to serving the educational process in the university. She lauded the efforts of the center's academic staff for their initiative to participate in providing the training programs as well as the coordination and supervision of the registration stages and placement tests.
On her part, the Deputy Director of the Center, Dr. Nawal Al-Zahrani, said that the center had earlier launched a training program in the second semester of the academic year 1442 A.H., which received a great turnout from the university’s affiliates and fulfilled the aspirations of the center in improving their skills and raising their proficiency levels in the English language. This encouraged the center to launch a package of training programs again in the current semester of the academic year. She also emphasized the continuation of providing these training programs in the coming seasons to realize professional development plans in the English language.
