Under the patronage of His Excellency the Dean of the College of Social Sciences, Dr. Abdul-Fattah Bostanji, the Vice Deanship of the College for Academic Affairs, in cooperation with the Vice Deanship of the College at the Female Section, organized a workshop entitled: "Regulations and Mechanisms of Academic Advising". The workshop was attended by the heads and deputy heads of the departments and the academic staff members in preparation for the beginning of the new academic year.
The Vice Dean of the College for Academic Affairs, Dr. Nassir Al-Zahrani, in his opening speech, referred to the importance of academic advising and its role in enriching the students' educational experience. Dr. Al-Zahrani added that the academic advisor must be fully aware of the concept of advising and the student regulations related to it to be able to advise and guide the students in a good way.
After that, the Head of the Department of Social Services, Prof. Abdul-Ghani Al-Harbi, the Head of the Department of Media, Dr. Halil Al-Omairi, the Head of the Department of English Language, Dr. Maisarah Al-Mirabi, and the Head of the Department of Geography, Dr. Abdullah Al-Qurashi, discussed the most important pillars and requirements of the plans of the academic departments.
On her part, the Head of the Department of Social Services (female section), Dr. Mona Al-Juhani, in her presentation, tackled all types of at-risk students and the mechanism of dealing with them. Moreover, the Deputy Head of the Department of English Language, Dr. Hanadi Azhari, and the Deputy Head of the Media Department, Dr. Andalib Adas, reviewed the input screens and the registration actions available for the male and female academic guides through the educational system on the university website.
Wrapping up the workshop, the Vice Dean of the College at the Female Section, Dr. Hadeel Azhar, lauded the efforts of all those who contributed to the success of this workshop and the enrichment of all its themes. She then asked Allah for this workshop to achieve its desired objectives in enabling the male and female guides to upgrade the student's educational journey.
