UQU President Approves Results of Candidates for Admission to Postgraduate Programs

Dr. Bakri M. Assas, President of Umm al-Qura University (UQU), has approved results of the candiates for admission to the Postgraduate Programs for the academic year 1438/1439H.

Thereupon, the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies would like to announce names of candidates for admission to PhD, MA and higher diploma programs.

Document Verification:

All candidates must head to the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies (for male students, at Al-Abdiyah Campus, and for females, at Al-Zaher Campus) to complete the admission processes after verifying documents, and ensuring fulfillment of all stated requirements.

Document Verification Period:

The Document Verification Period for all candidates shall begin on Sunday, Shaaban 4, 1438H, till Thursday, Shaaban 22, 1438H, according to the order shown in the following table:

Candidates must bring with them the following documents for verification:

  1. Origin or true copy of the qualification (BA certificate for higher diploma and MA applicants, and MA certificate for PhD applicants).
  2. Origin or true copy of the transcript.
  3. Origin or the National ID, Residence (Iqama), or passport; a copy shall not be accepted.
  4. Origin of the English learning certificate (TOEFL, IELTS, or the English Aptitude Certificate), as well as the University Aptitude Certificate, as required by each relevant college and program.


When the applicant heads to the Deanship, he must make sure that all required documents are complete and available. Failure to fulfill this requirement shall entail instant cancellation of the nomination.


An applicant who holds a governmental job (whether academic or non-academic) must provide the Deanship with:

  • Approval from the main reference in the region for MA applicants (study leave shall not be accepted).
  • An approbation letter from the competent person certifying that the PhD applicant is ready to study on a full-time basis (based on a scholarship decision; study leave shall not be accepted) for the stipulated minimum period (6 semesters), as provided for by the Unified Postgraduate Studies Regulation, its regulator instructions, and the other relevant decisions.
  •  For TAs and instructors at Saudi universities: the internal scholarship decision.

 Those decisions must be submitted by Thursday, Shawwal 26, 1438H; they shall not be accepted after this deadline, and the nomination shall be canceled.


Candidates Who Are Would-be Graduates

Candidates who are would-be graduates must head to the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies over the period from Sunday, Shawwal 22, 1438H to Shawwal 26, 1438H, and bring with them all the documents stated hereinabove. Failure to fulfill this requirements shall entail instant cancellation of the nomination.
