His Excellency the UQU Vice President for Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Fahd bin Ahmad Al-Zahrani, in his office on Tuesday, 27 Shawwal 1442 A.H., received His Excellency the Dean of Library Affairs, Prof. Khalid bin Sulaiman Maatouq, His Excellency the Vice Dean for Technological and Technical Affairs, and members of the Committee for “Modernizing the Organizational Structure and Preparing Job Descriptions for the Administrative and Technical Departments of the Deanship of Library Affairs”.

Prof. Khalid provided a detailed explanation of the objectives of restructuring and building a descriptive card for the tasks of each department. He further talked about how to link the department’s tasks with the strategic goals of the deanship and to prepare a guide for the practical procedures for each of the departments according to the vision of the deanship, in line with the vision of the university, with the aim of defining for each employee of the deanship his/her main tasks and work steps. The committee members also worked on preparing a set of smart goals for each department, including the heads of the departments and the department employees. These goals are related to the performance indicators used in the UQU quality work objectives.

His Excellency the Dean indicated that he created a number of new departments, including:

• The Department of Data and Quality Management, which aims to deal with big data that helps to make decisions by developing groups and providing quality electronic services.
• The Department of Digital Scientific Publishing, which assists in publishing scientific production via a digital platform and in investing information.

At the end of the presentation, the UQU Vice President praised the work of the committee and the practical effort exerted to prepare the structure and descriptions. The Dean of Library Affairs thanked His Excellency the Vice President for the unlimited support towards the deanship and for honoring the members of the committee.
