Duties of the Project Department Director:

- Supervising and following up the completion and implementation of projects in the UQU residence halls and affiliated sites.
- Preparing the plans of implementation for the project phases to achieve the objectives set out by the General Administration of Projects.
- Overseeing the work of all departments to ensure the accuracy of implementation, both in the planning processes and supervising follow-up implementation phases.
- Ensuring the implementation, using all Primavera applications, and project management by the relevant authorities.
- Representing the UQU role in managing projects and applying all financial and technical decisions.
- Preparing the stop-work letters for projects when inconsistencies are detected.
- Identifying problems during the implementation of projects and taking the required corrective actions.
- Coordinating and following up with all relevant parties in the project (including the contractor, consultant engineer, beneficiary, the Department of Engineering Contracts, and the Financial
- Providing technical follow-up of all project activities in coordination with the Consultant Engineer and the follow-up team upon implementation.
- Ensuring the quality and quantity of the materials according to customary technical principles.
- Reporting to the direct manager.
Administrative Powers:
- Monitoring and following up UQU staff's work hours.
- Evaluating staff performance.
- Approving leave.
- Measuring the performance of the UQU departments utilizing the balanced scorecard approach in line with the strategic objectives of the General Administration of Projects.
Financial Powers:
Approving and signing the documents of financial dues (for contractors and consultant engineers).
Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum ten years' experience.
- Management and development course.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic.
