Dr. Saeed A. Alharthi,
Dean, College of Pharmacy: 2012- 2014

 

Dr Alharthi began his tenure as dean of the UQU College of Pharmacy in July of 2012. Before that and from 2009-2011, he was a Vice dean of UQU the scientific research Institute and serving as a Vice dean of the UQU College of applied medical science from 2006 to 2008. From 1994 to date, he is a faculty member at the UQU college of Medicine department of medical parasitology ( 1994- 2002; Demonstrator, 2002-2007; Assistant professor and Associate professor from 2007 tell now) and the chairman of Parasitology department from 2003-2007 and from 2012 to date. Dr Alharthi holds a baccalaureate of science degree in Medical Laboratories from the UQU, MSc. and Ph.D. degrees in Molecular Parasitology from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, UK.
As a faculty member at UQU college of Medicine, Dr Alharthi establishes research and educational activities relating to parasitic diseases in Saudi Arabia in general. Dr Alharthi research has predominantly been in the diagnosis and drug resistant of malarial disease in Saudi Arabia at the molecular level. He was published more the 15 scientific and review papers related to the current situation of malaria in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
