The Museum Unit was established as per the decision of the UQU President No. 776/2, dated 09 Safar 1420 A.H., pursuant to a recommendation made by a number of the UQU academics who were familiar with museum affairs. The aim was to restructure the work and display items at the UQU specialized museums by combining them all in one showcasing venue, to be a nucleus of a comprehensive scientific museum serving and contributing to achieving a number of objectives.

The Museum Unit, whose members were selected from the specialized professors, included the most important disciplines in museology and successfully created a suitable ground that enabled the university to make many achievements, matching the laudable moral and financial support received by the Museum Unit from His Excellency the UQU President and various departments.
