The Department of Public Health is one of the departments of the College of Health Sciences in Al-Leith. It was established by virtue of the decision no. (18/62/1431) issued by the Higher Education Council on Dhul-Hijjah 29, 1431 A.H. The department awards a bachelor's degree in Public Health to male and female students after a four-year period of study, consisting of eight semesters, in addition to a fifth internship year, during which the student receives practical training to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the years of study.
The department provides students with theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in the field of public health, edifies them on the proper way to address health problems in the local and international communities, and meets the needs of public health specialists in the public and private sectors in Saudi Arabia.
A public health specialist is qualified to carry out public health activities in various health-related fields at public hospitals and primary health care centers, in the public and private sectors. The department is currently preparing a master's program in all areas of public health, which is set to be launched soon.
To contribute to the upgrading of health care services provided to the Saudi community in Al-Leith Province and Saudi Kingdom in general, through graduating highly qualified professionals with competitive skills and competencies in public health at both the local and international levels.

Conducting research in the public health field. Coordination and cooperation with the institutions that provide health services.
