Overview and Establishment:

The department was established at the College of Teachers, and was then transferred to the University College, after many colleges moved to Umm Al-Qura University. The Department of Islamic Studies is one of the most important departments of Jamoum University College, as it teaches Islamic courses at the different departments of the college.

Vision:

To enable the department to be at the forefront of the academic departments specialized in the field of Islamic studies, in a manner that suits the honor and status of the place.

Mission:

Providing the society with academically qualified and outstanding individuals in order to spread Islam, raise the awareness of the society, and benefit it.

Objectives:

1. To graduate insightful Islamic characters who have good knowledge of their civilization and are fully aware of modern culture.
2. To take part in spreading the tolerant Islamic culture derived from the text of the Holy Quran and the instructions of Sunnah.
3. To support research activities and hold seminars and conferences, at the national and international levels.
4. To graduate students qualified for work in different fields required by the labor market.
5. To implant the love of the country of the Two Holy Mosques and the tendency to defend it in the souls of the college’s departments by instilling and developing the love of and loyalty to this blessed country, and stressing the necessity to obey the rulers (may Allah safeguard them).
