The Department of Chemistry was established at Jamoum University College at the beginning of the academic year 1437–1438 A.H., offering a program to grant a bachelor's degree in chemistry.
Since then the department has embarked on its progress in science and scientific research in the field of chemistry, contributing to the many broad and different fields of chemistry, which include organic, inorganic, physical, and analytical chemistry. The department also included bio-chemistry, natural products chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, environmental chemistry, and industrial chemistry.
The department has a number of laboratories, each containing devices, tools and materials that help students take part in practical applications and understand the scientific material in a more accurate and profound manner.
