Abstract
This study focused on the topic of consensus in interpretation, according to Al-Maturidi in his interpretation known as "Interpretations of the Sunnis", by identifying the areas where consensus has been reported on the meaning of a verse, studying it, and judging it. The study also shed light on his method in this regard, which followed an inductive-analytical approach. The study was divided into a preface, an introduction, four sections, and a conclusion. Among the most prominent results of the study was that Al-Maturidi mentioned in his interpretation twelve stories with consensus in interpretation, and after studying and comparing them with the opinions of other interpreters, it became clear that five of the interpretive consensuses were correct and seven of them were not correct. Al-Maturidi mentioned eight interpretive consensuses that no other interpreter had previously mentioned. Al-Maturidi was considered lenient in his story of interpretive consensuses regarding the people of interpretation. Most of them were not agreed upon, as was evident from the detailed study of the issues. One of the reasons for mentioning consensus, according to Al-Maturidi, was to refute some misguided sects such as the Mu'tazilah and others.
