Abstract
An answer to a frequently asked question about tattoo: Is it impure? What is the ruling on tattoos in terms of purity, performing prayer, and permissibility of performing prayer behind a tattooed person according to Hanafi school, and examining Hanafi school’s literature on this matter, and responding to those who attribute ruling of tattoo impurity to Hanafi school. Manuscript Importance: The importance can be derived from the title of the manuscript, in which the author, a distinguished jurist who headed the Egypt’s Hanafi school, satisfied each seeker’s quest for the truth on the school’s tattoo-related rulings. Verification Approach and Procedures: I acquired four complete copies; a copy written during the author’s lifetime, and I followed the approach adopted for manuscript verification.
