Abstract
-This research deals with the explanation of Abu Ubaid Al-Qasim bin Sallam in justifiying readings (Al-Qira`aat) from the beginning of Suratil--Fatihah to the end of Surati Al-Imran «collection and study».
The researcher aimed from his research to achieve the following objectives:
-Collecting the justifications of Abu Ubaid in Suratil-Fatihah, Al Baqarah and Ali-Imran from all that he found in the books of scholars.
-Study of Abu Obaid›s justifications of Qur`anic readings (Al-Qira`aat).
-Explanation of Abi Obaid›s approaches in justifying the readings.
The researcher reached the following results: -
-The number of places that Abu Ubaid addressed in Suras Al-Fatihah, Al-Baqara and Al Imran reached twenty-three, and the number of places he addressed in the entire Qur’an reached one hundred and fifty-five.
-Abu Ubaid’s references for the justification vary, sometimes he justifies with the Holy Qur’an, sometimes with the Prophetic Sunnah, sometimes with Arabic, and sometimes with odd readings.
The researcher also recommends the following: -
-Collecting the justifications of Abi Obaid, which depends on the context, whether before the text or after in a separate study and comparing it with books of interpretation that are concerned with the relationship between the verses.
It is recommended for those interested in the science of Qira`at justification to explore the efforts of the predecessors in justifying Qur`anic readings, and to clarify their role and impact in this science, as it is still a fertile field for Qur`anic scientific research
