Abstract
This study aimed at examining Prophet’s approach to Ihtisab (i.e. confident anticipation of Allah’s reward for good deeds), such as tolerating the discourse of violence. Therefore, the researcher identified what is meant by ‘Ihtisab tolerating the discourse of violence’. Furthermore, the researcher highlighted the legitimacy of tolerating the discourse of violence in light of the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah. Then, the study gave some examples on tolerating the discourse of violence from Prophet Muhammad’s biography (Arabic: Sirrah); in addition to shedding some light on Prophet Muhammad’s methods of healing from the effects of facing the discourse of violence.
The research reached some results, most importantly of which are: The Islamic Shariah followed the approach of moderation and facilitation and encouraged it; far from violence, extremism, and radicalism. Further, the study concluded that the Prophet followed a clear approach of warning against the discourse of violence in all its forms.
At the end, the study recommended that the researchers should pay more attention to researching the Prophetic Sunnah and highlighting the topics it covered in order to demonstrate the rightful approach of Islam and its tolerance.
