Abstract
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the most merciful. All praise is due to Allah, the lord of the world. The current study aimed at clarifying the Islamic ruling on reading and reciting verses from the Qur’an in water for treatment, and to present a set of evidence from the Qur’an, Sunnah, and authentic narrations. The researcher reviewed the ruling of this evidence and its validity and weakness, as well as explaining the sayings of scholars in each school of thought and their views on this issue and what a Muslim can adhere to and rely on according to what has been stated from the authentic and proven evidences. After studying the issue, the researcher concluded that it is permissible to read verses from the Qur’an in the water for purpose of medical treatment. Then the researcher showed the permissible methods of ruqyah and the evidence for that from the Qur’an and the Sunnah and authentic and proven narrations. I ask the Almighty Allah to make this humble work sincere for His sake and make it useful for Muslims in general to benefit from it. All praise is due to Allah.
