The Role of Awqaf Achieving Technical Training Objectives Perspectives of Leadership, Departments, and Training Units

Many educational institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have shown considerable interest o endowments as a source of funding for education, given their rich heritage of global expertise and practices of this field, and the crucial importance of technical and vocational training within the education and training system. Employing a descriptive-analytical approach, this study explores the role of Awqaf in achieving technical and vocational training objectives, the current state of their investment in this sector, the challenges involved, and the factors enabling their effective utilization. The study was guided by the following primary question: What is the role of training-related Awqaf in achieving the goals of technical and vocational training? To address this question, a questionnaire was administered to 137 leaders of training units within technical and vocational training centers, and the data were analyzed using SPSS software. The study yielded several key findings, most notably the study population's awareness of the importance of Awqaf in achieving technical and vocational training objectives; however, it also revealed an absence of existing Awqaf or current plans to establish them. In light of these findings, the study offers several recommendations, including striving to establish training-related Awqaf in the vocational and technical training sector and promoting a culture that values Awqaf while raising awareness of their developmental role.
