Abstract
The research aimed to investigate the reality of using artificial intelligence applications in Colleges of Education from perspective of teaching staff specializing in science curricula and teaching methods at Saudi universities. The descriptive-analytical method was used, the study used electronic questionnaire including three domains: level of using AI applications in science curricula and teaching methods, importance of using AI applications in science curricula and teaching methods, the obstacles to using AI applications in science curricula and teaching methods. After confirming validity and reliability of questionnaire, it was administered to a sample of (45) male and female teaching staff in Colleges of Education at Saudi universities. Results showed the mean scores of participants’ responses on the first domain ranged between (3.489–4.600) all fell within “high” and “very high” levels. The mean scores for the second domain ranged between (3.667–4.289) falling within “high” and “very high” levels., the mean scores of the third domain ranged between (3.489–4.178) all were “high” to “very high” levels. The study revealed there were no statistically significant differences in participants’ responses through three domains attributable to variables of (geographical region, gender, academic rank, years of experience) the study presented recommendations including establishing specialized centers in Saudi universities concerning artificial intelligence adopting effective strategies to qualify human cadres capable of using AI applications efficiently in teaching and learning processes; providing supportive technical environment and technological infrastructure aligned with AI applications in Saudi universities ensuring sufficient time and practical training for teaching staff in Saudi universities.
