Abstract
The aim of this study is to reveal the effectiveness of using a training program based on self-regulated learning strategies on developing the habits of mind among King Saud University students, To achieve this goal, the semi-experimental approach was employed by designing the control and experimental groups with pre-test and post-test, The sample included 48 female students from the Deanship of the Joint First Year, who were distributed equally between the two groups. A training program was built according to the ADDIE model, The effectiveness of the program was measured using the Habits of Mind Scale as a research tool, The results there is a statistically significant difference at the significance level (α ≤ 0.05) between the mean post-test scores of the students, in favor of the experimental group, The effect size was 0.139, which indicates a large effect. The research recommended adopting such training programs and including self-regulated learning strategies in the content of curricula, to support the development of habits of mind, and to train faculty members to employ them in their teaching practices.
