Abstract
The study aimed to identify the challenges facing the implementation of school evaluation and accreditation standards in public schools in Riyadh, in addition to presenting proposals that could facilitate the application of these standards. The study adopted the descriptive survey method and used a questionnaire as the primary tool for data collection from a simple random sample consisting of 328 male and female principals of public schools across various educational levels in Riyadh. The results revealed that school principals face multiple challenges at a moderate level in applying evaluation and accreditation standards, with the most prominent being financial and material challenges, followed by human resource challenges, and then organizational and administrative challenges. The findings also showed a very high level of agreement on the pro-posed solutions to facilitate the application of the standards. The most important proposals included meeting educational and administrative staffing needs by hiring new personnel to ensure job stability, and improving school infrastructure in line with health and safety standards. The results further emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination among stakeholders involved in applying the standards and organizing joint efforts to ensure the effective achievement of accreditation goals. The study recommended redistributing teaching loads to reduce the burden on teachers involved in evaluation teams and allocating official working hours for them within the school schedule to support their active participation.
