Abstract
The research objective was to investigate the impact of employing Augmented Reality (AR) technology on the development of effective communication skills among first-year students at Umm Al-Qura University. The study used a descriptive-analytical approach and a quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of 60 students who were randomly selected and divided into two groups. The control group (30 students) was taught using the traditional teaching method, while the experimental group (30 students) was taught using augmented reality technology. The researcher used an observation card to measure effective communication skills. The study identified a list of effective communication skills suitable for first-year students. The results showed significant differences at a significance level of (0.05) between the mean scores of the control group and the experimental group in the application dimension of the observation card, which was attributed to the use of augmented reality technology in favor of the experimental group. The study recommended conducting training courses for faculty members on how to activate augmented reality technology in teaching different.
