Abstract
The development of creative ideas is connected to inspiration, an important factor in artistic creativity as well as the educational process. This study aimed to explore the role of image generation applications using artificial intelligence (AI) to inspire drawing and art students' and measuring their motivation from their point of view, by the descriptive design, with a questionnaire to measure the students' point of view, and the motivation scale. It was applied to N=47 students in drawing and arts chosen at random by the University of Jeddah. The results concluded that the applications of image generation using AI contributed to the inspiration of drawing and art students (Mean=4.46). The students' preferences and attitudes towards it were strong and positive (Mean = 4.16). Also, 21% of them agreed that it is important at the sketch stage, 14% in visualizing ideas, shadow, light and choosing colors, 30% agreed that it is rich in ideas and wonderful in giving it stunning results, and 15% agreed that it is helpful in visualizing ideas from their imagination. The effectiveness of the applications on their motivation increasing was statistically significant (T= 15.9137), it aroused their attention with its images for their ideas and other ideas (Mean=4.70), and the association of their ideas images, and its fluency (Mean=4.52), their confidence in producing more creative works, and its ease (Mean=4.51), and their satisfaction with their enjoyment during use (Mean=4.46). Other applications of AI in the arts should be explored and how best to use it for students.
