Abstract
The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a training program based on green teaching strategies in developing awareness of developmental dimensions in education among Arabic language teachers in the Riyadh region. To achieve this goal, a training program was developed based on green education principles, and its effectiveness was assessed. The study employed a quasi-experimental design with a single-group, pre-test, and post-test measurement approach. The study included a sample of 20 Arabic language teachers from the secondary stage, selected using multi-stage cluster random sampling. An assessment tool for awareness of developmental dimensions in climate change education was used. The results indicated the effectiveness of the program in enhancing awareness of sustainable environmental development and climate change. Additionally, it contributed to raising awareness about natural disasters and preparedness within the context of comprehensive schooling. Based on the study findings, the following recommendations were made: providing training for teachers at various levels on the use of green teaching tools in the teaching and learning process, establishing national standards and indicators for green education practices in schools, evaluating teachers' performance and providing guidance accordingly, incorporating green teaching skills into teacher preparation and qualification programs at the university level, and expanding the program to reach a larger number of teachers.
