Abstract
The current study aimed to identify the degree of inclusion of twenty-first century skills in language proficiency course 2 in the field of: critical thinking, problem solving, creative thinking, communication, technology use, self-learning, cooperation and community participation for second-level students in secondary school in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The descriptive approach (content analysis) was used, and the study sample consisted of language proficiency course 2 in the secondary stage, through the study tool, which is the content analysis card. In its results, the study reached a list of the most important skills of the twentieth century that should be included in educational curricula, including the Arabic language, while the skills of the field of creative thinking in language competencies course 2 were weak, with a percentage of 13.21%, and the field of communication skills was high, with a percentage of 38.17%, and in the level of processing and employing technology, it was very low, with a percentage of 5.54%, the field of learning skills was very weak, as the percentage was 8.45%, and the field of cooperation and community participation skills was average compared to the general percentage for all fields of twenty-first century skills, and the percentage was 19.41%. The study recommends the importance of consideration by those in charge of Arabic language curricula in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia with the skills of the twenty-first century, employing and integrating them into the current and future curricula, and training teachers and learners to use them in the current curricula.
