Abstract
This research aimed at building a proposed vision for developing maths curriculum of Intermediate stage in the light of dimensions of sustainable development in Saudi Arabia. The research procedures have depended on analytical descriptive research to describe and analyse relevant literature, and prepare the proposed vision for developing the curriculum. So that a dimensions of sustainable development list has been constructed. It consisted of (50) sub-indicators distributed to main dimensions of sustainable development as follows: The economic dimension that included (16) indicators, the social dimension that included (17) indicators, and the environmental dimension that included (17) indicators. To know how much the availability of these dimensions in the content of this curriculum, the previous list was converted into content analysis card, and the research has been limited to the analysis of the content of maths curriculum of 1st Intermediate stage in first and second semesters. The results showed the availability of economic dimension with a medium percentage (50.67%), the social dimension with a low percentage (35.16%) and the environmental dimension with very low percentage (14.17%) from the total of repetition of sub-indicators. As well as a proposed vision for developing maths curriculum of Intermediate stage was built in the light of dimensions of sustainable development in the kingdom. In the light of the previous results, some recommendations and suggestions were provided as follows: arranging training sessions for curriculum development administrators to train them on planning maths curriculum in the light of dimensions of sustainable development in the kingdom, and doing a field study to find out how well the Intermediate stage students know and aware of dimensions of sustainable development in maths curriculum and the importance of that in achieving their different learning outcomes.
