Abstract
The study aimed to determine the degree the degree of knowledge of faculty members and academic supervisors about sustainable development at King Faisal University. The researcher used the descriptive survey method, and her tool was a questionnaire consisting of (44) statements distributed over three axes, and its validity and reliability were confirmed. The study sample consisted of (184) faculty members and academic supervisors at King Faisal University who were selected randomly. Statistical methods were used. The study reached the following results: The general trend in the degree of faculty members’ knowledge (of the sustainable development goals axis and the sustainable development concepts axis) was moderate. While the axis (the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s initiatives in sustainable development) was non-existent. There are significant differences between faculty members and academic supervisors (for the gender variable in favor of females, for the academic degree variable for the knowledge of the sustainable development goals in favor of the professor’s degree, and for the academic degree variable for the knowledge of the sustainable development goals) for the benefit of the assistant professor’s rank. The study recommended shedding light on the concept of sustainable development, making sure to increase knowledge by attending conferences at the local and global levels, holding training workshops, including in curricula the concept of sustainable development, developing programs by building partnerships with international institutions, and benefiting from global experiences in sustainable development.
