Abstract
The study main goal was to explore the extent to which teachers at the public schools in Saudi Arabia have of knowledge to utilize modern technologies in teaching, as this knowledge was identified according to TPACK model. The study conducted the descriptive survey approach, where a questionnaire of (42) statements has developed covering the seven dimensions of TPACK model. The study population included all the teachers at public schools in Makkah sector, where the total was (24287) teachers in the 2019 academic year; whereas the sample of study was (258) teachers who were randomly selected representing all stages in education. The main findings indicated that the Saudi teachers in this study have high degree of knowledge in regarding to the utilization of modern technologies in teaching including their specialization, teaching methods, and technology. Further, the results showed statistically significant differences in the degree of knowledge among Saudi teachers according to their gender variable in the components of: knowledge to use the modern technologies; devices and applications for the benefit of the male teachers; while there was no statistically significant differences of the rest components. The study concluded with some recommendations such as: the need to increase the attention to develop a professional competences for teachers according to their specializations to ensure appropriate use of modern technologies in their teaching with a suitable teaching methods and strategies.
