Overview:
Environmental Health is a science with an interdisciplinary approach to identify, assess and manage biological, physical, chemical and social hazards in the environment. This approach is used to protect and improve community’s health. The Environmental Health Department delivers courses that provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to identifying and assessing environmental health risks. The curriculum also helps with developing intervention programs aim to protect human health and ensuring sustainable development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The establishment of the Environmental Health Department was propelled by the need to strengthen the formation of innovative and creative Environmental Health professionals and researchers, in addition to improve community awareness and public engagement.
