Student Design Competition for Engineering, Architecture, Planning and Computer for the GCC Universities
The projects competition, that targets students of the faculties of Engineering, Architecture, Planning and Computer Science, is one of the results of the applied recommendations of the periodical meetings of the Committee of Deans in its consecutive rounds.
Participations for students’ projects are categorized according to the following groups relevant to different specializations:
- Projects for Engineering students;
- Projects for Architecture and Planning students; and
- Projects for Computer Sciences students.
Actual work for carrying out this competition starts at different times, as the first group will start in the seventh round, while the second and third groups will be carried out in the fourth round. This will lead to accumulating experience, gaining an insight about students’ performance in different specializations, imitating different experiences, and enhancing knowledge and experience exchange.
The competition aims at highlighting students’ skills in choosing design projects that match the engineering practices in real world and drawing creative solutions that reflect the outstanding educational environment through which they were qualified. This will make their educational environments an example to follow through comparisons and setting standard levels that should be the minimum accepted quality on the local, regional and international levels.
The competition also provides a common platform for introducing the best practices and experiences in engineering education and gives students a chance to display their engineering skills.
The College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture is looking forward to another successful round of this competition that includes distinguished projects in which the display of prominent levels and creative solutions for the students will continue.
