Brief:

The Department was established in 1393 AH, to granting the Master's and Doctorate degrees in the two branches of the Arabic language: grammar & literature, and rhetoric & criticism.

Objectives

1- Preparing distinct researchers in Arabic disciplines and literature.

2. Providing staff members for higher education institutions within and outside the Kingdom.

3. Preparing scientific research reflecting high quality, creativity and added knowledge.

4. Employing modern techniques in the dissemination of the Arab culture.

5. Providing scientific consultations, and contributing to the development of Arabic Language programs and curricula.

6. Engaging the learners in the knowledge industry by investing in modern teaching methodologies that stimulate the student's knowledge, and reveal his innate skills.

The mission of the department is to provide distinct programs in Arabic literature and disciplines, recruit innovative staff members, provide high-quality output combining creativity in research, and knowledge industry related to the identity of the nation and its values.
