Overview:

The College of Shari'ah and Islamic Studies started as an idea in a study made by its Dean, Saud bin Ibrahim bin Muhammad al-Shuraim. He proposed the college would serve a very important side of the higher educational, the graduates, who would serve the private and the public sectors and keep up with the new Kingdom's judicial system . In addition, he suggested a plan to provide 5,000 judicial jobs in five years. The college was established under its current name when the suggestion was approved by the UQU Council, the Higher Education Council and his Royal Highness. It was the first to be established under this name:  The College of Shari'ah and Islamic Studies, in Saudi Arabia, Muslim and Arab world.

The projectlaid the foundation of the judicial and laws education in Saudi Arabia depending on the Islamic studies. The college joined the UQU to continue its mission at service of community by education, illumination and training. The college comprises two departments:

-The Judicial Studies Department (Boys).

-The Laws Department (Boys and Girls).

 

Mission:

The College of Judicial Studies and Laws tries to be an example for qualifying highly skilled cadres at the theoretical and practical levels, conducting studies and researches, providing high quality and unique education services to the surrounding community (Makkah) - the land of the heavenly revelation and the destination of all Muslims.

 

Objectives:

The College of Judicial Studies and Laws attempts to achieve a package of purposeful goals and targets that help the university and the community. For Example:

1- Raising new generations with enough knowledge and awareness of the milestones and purposes of the Judiciary and Laws according to the Islamic Shari'ah messaged to us by Prophet Muhammad and the early Muslims.

2- Spreading the Islamic teachings in the domains of the judiciary and laws affairs by educating students and holding them to the duty of guarding its pillars in the community and realizing the Qur’Anic Laws through the judicial and legal policy.

3- Taking part in preserving the Islamic heritage from the side of the judiciary and laws sides by putting its treasures under the spot in addition to the scientific investigations of dissertations and researches.

4- Addressing the judicial and law cases which need reconsideration and scientific tracing into their roots to drop a clear distinction between the state of being deeply rooted in the past and belonging to the contemporary life. 

5- Achieving sufficiency of highly qualified judicial and law cadres who can meet the community's needs, for example, of education, judiciary, investigation and prosecution, consultation, legal practice, etc...
