Overview:
The Department of Accounting was founded in 1405 A.H. as a section of the Islamic Economy Department in order to graduate specialized groups in this discipline to meet the country's need for accountants with an Islamic accounting approach.
The number of students has increased over the years. In 1421 A.H., the Civilization and Islamic Systems Department was integrated with the Islamic History Department. Consequently, the accounting section was separated as an independent department from the Islamic Economy Department.
There are currently more than 900 male students in the accounting department (as the department only accepts male students).
