The Dean of Library Affairs, Prof. Khalid bin Sulaiman Maatouq, in the presence of Dr. Hasan Al-Thubaiti, the Vice Dean for Technical Affairs, held an expanded meeting today, Monday, 18 Shawwal 1442 A.H., with all the deanship staff. This meeting comes within the periodic meetings held by the deanship for its staff.
At the beginning of the meeting, the dean extended sincere thanks and appreciation to Her Excellency Dr. Aminah Al-Ahmadi, the Vice Dean for Development and Quality, whose tenure has just ended, for all the commendable efforts and initiatives that have been made, and he also wished her constant success and achievements. In addition, His Excellency expressed his thanks to the staff of the deanship for the lauded efforts exerted during the last semester in terms of the services offered to the beneficiaries and completing the procedures for clearance.
The meeting focused on explaining and clarifying the objectives of the new structure of the Deanship of Library Affairs, which are in line with the restructure of the university's academic programs and the strategic plan of the deanship. Moreover, His Excellency the Dean of Library Affairs explained that the method applied in preparing the administrative structures is a very scientific method and approach, based on the study of the administrative structures of all Saudi university libraries and university libraries in some Gulf and Arab countries, as well as distinguished international libraries. Following this approach resulted in developing descriptive labels and a procedural guide, for all the administrative and technical departments of the deanship, which are linked to the strategic objectives of the deanship.
At the end of the meeting, His Excellency the Dean of Library Affairs thanked the members of the committee, headed by Dr. Hasan Al-Thubaiti, the Vice Dean for Technical Affairs, for their lauded efforts in preparing this work. His excellency listened to some contributions by the deanship staff, which he admired as they highlighted the staff's ambition and creative ideas. On their part, the attendants thanked His Excellency for the fruitful meeting.
