UQU President Reviews Arrangements of 17th Hajj Researches Scientific Meeting

The President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas, reviewed the arrangements and preparations made by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research for the 17th Meeting that would be organized by UQU on 13th Shaaban 1438H in Madinah.

This was during Dr. Assas’ meeting with Dr. Sami Barhameen, Dean of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research, on Monday 13th Rajab 1438H, in the presence of Dr. Hemdan bin Darwish Al-Ghamdi, Head of UQU Legal Department.

During the visit, Dr. Assas commended the steps taken and the arrangements made for the success of the Meeting’s activities. He pointed out to the care and attention paid by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, HRH the Crown Prince and HRH the Deputy Crown Prince, May Allah save them, to the pilgrims and visitors of the Holy Mosques.

In turn, Dr. Sami Barhameen said that the number of participations received by the scientific committee of the Meeting amounted to 313 participations, of which 85 researches and posters were selected to be addressed by participants. He pointed out that this year’s Seventeenth Scientific Meeting of Hajj and Umrah Research would cover eight main topics. He said that the topics would include the jurisprudence of Hajj, Umrah, visit and administration- economy- urbanization- engineering, environment and health- awareness and media- technologies and their applications- initiatives and their impact on achievements in the development of services and facilities- community participation in the service of Pilgrims and visitors of the Prophet’s Mosque (peace be upon him).

Within the same vein, the Dean of the Institute provided a detailed explanation of the actions taken by the Institute and its working committees starting with the research and participations received by the Scientific Committee, in addition to the role of the committees formed for such purpose.
