The Standing Committee for Training and Scholarships held its 12th meeting for the academic year 1437/1438H on Wednesday, Jumada II 23, 1438H. Convened by the UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Thamer bin Hemdan al-Harbi, the meeting was attended by the Supervisor General of Scholarships, Dr. Ahmed bin Youssef Barqawi, and all other committee members.

Recommendations were put forth concerning all topics on the agenda:

1. Three teaching assistants and instructors were recommended to get scholarships.

2. Two students were recommended to have his scholarship terminated.

3. One student was recommended to approve his academic trip.

4. One student was recommended to change the university of his scholarship.

5. One student was recommended to change the major of his scholarship.

6. Eight students were recommended to extend their scholarships to enroll in a PhD program.

7. Twelve students were recommended to extend their scholarships to study a foreign language.

8. One student was recommended to extend their scholarships to enroll in an MA program.

The committee secretary, Mr. Wael Abdulraziq Shaldoom, stated that topics on the agenda were discussed, coming up with appropriate recommendations.
